If the feed of a halal animals (cow, goat etc.) comprises haram ingredients; does it make the animal haram?
Do we have any position of Islam on treating animals before Zabiha. In the USA the chicken (broilers) are kept indoors not allowed to move. They live in their waste before slaughtering them. They do not even see the sunlight. Same is true about beef; animals are kept in very cruel conditions even though they are Zabiha in the traditional fashion. Is such meat Halal for us where animals are literally tortured before being slaughtered?
A Hindu friend has asked me why we offer animals which is a cruel thing that too in the name of God. I could not explain the issue to him. I told him that it is a sunnah of the Prophet Abraham (sws) but he said we could instead give away sweets etc and remember him.
I have a question regarding Qurbani. Is Qurbaani waajib or Sunnah? Is it compulsory to offer an animal for sacrifice or we can instead give away the money to a needy person.
Some people say that animals cannot think. That is their nature. But when you study Surah al-Namal (27) about the conversation of the Prophet Solomon (sws) with Hud Hud about Bilquees, the polytheist queen, and about the conversations of ants you would definitely think that animals have ability to think and pray and know about Allah.
