Duroods And Supplications

I have seen especially women reciting verses from Holy Quran, part or complete surah, darood ( different kinds - Tanjeena , Taj , Ibraheemi etc etc ) , Ayat Kareema , or reciting Allah's name etc etc. They recite these in specific numbers. And they recite in group or singly to complete a given number of quantity. They do it to pray and wish for specific objective which may be either: health recovery of someone who is sick, suffering from a dangerous life threatening disease, getting a job, selling a business or for any other purposes.

My question is: Is it right per Islamic teaching? Doing this make ones prayer answered much faster? What is the significance of doing all this - gathering some women or children or man and reading as mentioned above for the purpose of achieving some objective etc ?

Supplications Adding Adversities

I have noticed that whenever I start reciting the Qur’an for nonstop hours or engage in optional prayers or invoke Allah’s names for the achievement of my supplications Allah tests me more and more and does not answer my prayer urgently. Moreover I face a lot of problems, obstacles or pains in my day to day life. I guess when I try to be near to Him my grades starts getting higher and that is why He makes me feel tested. So, as a result I leave all above mentioned "things". People tell me that why more worship brings more tests and problem. I am already tired of tests so I can’t bear more and am about to leave all good things I do in order to avoid further tests by Allah.

People also say that if one keeps on thinking about one particular prayer or runs after one thing all the time Allah never grants so. It is better to be care free. Soon you will see that your prayer will reach point of achievement. Is all that true? Am I doing right by leaving all good things? I am a person who thinks instead of watching Tv, watching movies on cable or listening to music it is better to worship Allah. But when I spend my most of time in reciting Quran or offering optional prayers I face a lot of tests. I can’t face tests. I am already going through a tough time so then what should I do to utilize my time. Life is spent useless.

Darood-e-Taj

I was in Medina where some people told me that Darood e Taj should not be recited since it has some concepts of "Shirk" in it. However, there are other people who tell me to recite it whenever in difficulty or when we want Allah to fulfill our desires. I am very confused as to whom should I listen to. Could you please clarify whether one should recite Darood e Taj?

Blessing The Prophet (sws)

There is a Quranic verse which states that Allah and His Angels send their blessings (i.e recite darood) to bless the Holy Prophet. I am very much confused about the interpretation of this verse. Why does Allah send blessing to the Holy Prophet? Is it in line with the other verses of the Holy Quran which portray Allah as Al-mighty and Omniscient?

Secondly, what is the meaning of "Aal-e-Muhammad" in the Darood that we recite so often? Many of my Shia and Sunni "Syed" friends claim that it refers to the descendants and family of the Holy Prophet, and not to the Ummah of the Holy Prophet in general.

Regarding Abraham’s Prayer For His Father

Javed Aḥmad Ghamidi one’s said, during our chat, that Ibrahim (sws) was told by God not to pray for your father as he is a rejecter. But it appears that in Sūrah Ibrahim verse 41, the Prophet Ibrahim, again asks God to forgive his parents. To me the time period of latter is later than the first. Can you explain this please? Also kindly give me the reference of the sūrah where God stops Ibrahim (sws) to pray for his father.

Seeking Children Through Wazifas

My question is about dua. I am happily married for the last ten years. We don’t have children. I understand that the Quran commands us to always ask from Allah. Pray and beseech only God because we have two prominent examples of two prophets Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Zakariya (AS). They did not have children. They put their need before God and He gifted them with children. Keeping these things in mind I always ask God. But recently, one of my friends who had no children came to me and gave me good news that his wife is pregnant. He told me that he asked and talked with some pir sahib. The pir gave him some wazifa to recite and prescribed dua. This my friend did and was later blessed by God. My friend advises me to go for it. I am confused. Should I do this or not? I am not satisfied but you know the position of the one who is childless. What should I do? Secondly can my wife get infertility treatment here in Canada? Most of the doctors here are male.

Supplications After The Salah

The imam who leads the prayer, supplicates after the salah is completed. I personally prefer to recite supplications ascribed to the Prophet (sws) through reliable narrators. Some prayers have wahid mutakallim tense whereas Imam has to say dua for all namazeez using (plural) tense. Since for me it is difficult to change from singular to plural like Qalbi to Qulobuna and so on. So is it ok for imam to recite dua in wahid mutakallim tense.

Direct Address To The Prophet In The Prayer

Why do we say in salah the following as if the Apostle (pbuh) is alive and present with us?

"All compliments, all physical prayer and all monetary worship are for Allah. Peace be upon you, Oh Prophet, and Allah's mercy and blessings. Peace be on us and on all righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that no one is worthy of worship except Allah And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger." Why and how does it make sense? Why do we start talking to the Apostle while praying to Allah? Is prayer not supposed to be addressed to Allah?
