I am from Kashmir University and doing post graduation in physics and my core paper is astrophysics. I have read that the evolution of the universe takes place through the through Big Bang theory according to which a point mass explodes and heavenly bodies are produced. Please guide me from religious point of view.
Since the Big Bang is a scientific theory its explanation can only be sought in field of science. We can talk of the religious stance on a scientific issue but we cannot explain a pure scientific matter in religious terms.
It needs to be appreciated the realm of science is different and Islam has left human intellect to grapple with it. Islam only guides us on the moral implications of science and its theories…
I am doing research and would be grateful if you could help me. Could you please advise if under Sharia Laws, medical equipment which are used on the body, such as needles, drips etc. need to be authorized for use by the Sharia Council, or other authoring body? If so could you direct me to finding out how such items are deemed fit for use, and whether there is a list of products covered by such authorization.
The Sharia'h does not detail each and every matter of human life. It leaves such matters to the human intellect, reason and custom. It only objects to things which are morally and religiously wrong. This issue relates to a specific discipline which needs to be run in accordance with the available knowledge. There is no ethical issue here. Therefore, the religious scholars have no say in it.
Is this right to do scientific interpretation (Tafseer-i ilmi) of the Holy Qur’an and derive scientific laws from its verses?
The Qur’an was initially revealed to the Arabs of the time of the Holy Prophet (sws). The first and foremost objective of its revelation was to guide the humans in religious matters and explain the realities to them in ultimate form and leave them with no excuse to remain wandering in darkness. The Holy Qur’an repeatedly asserts that it is in the clearest language so that the addressees are clear about the final guidance of…
I came across this Hadith in Bukhari. The Prophet (sws) explains to Abu Dharr:
Do you know where the sun sets...? Indeed it travels till it prostates itself underneath the throne. (No: 4428)
The apparent meaning of the Hadith seems to go against what today is an established scientific fact. However, a careful analysis of this Hadith would show that this is not true: This subject has been discussed in the Qur’an also. Consider the following verse:
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَسْجُدُ لَهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ وَالنُّجُومُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَالشَّجَرُ وَالدَّوَابُّ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنَ النَّاسِDo you not see that all…
