Doing Good for Reward

Question:

I wanted to know why couldn’t we build our moralities based on moral values and not in the greed of gaining paradise or fear of Hell?
Answer:

Regarding the real motivation of doing good and abstaining from evil, the important thing to realize is that pleasing God (Paradise is only a consequence of this) is the corollary of having faith in Him. So a true believer resultantly is rewarded for this attitude. In other words, if a person has true faith in God, he will definitely try to please Him and when He pleases Him, he will be rewarded with Paradise.
